The University of Freiburg has signed an agreement with the Beijing International Institute of Asia-Europe Education and Culture (AEEC),北京亚欧国际教育文化院, which is intended to improve academic ties between both institutions and to facilitate the start of Chinese students in our Master of Economics Program.
While Chinese students are welcome to follow the regular application procedure as described on our website, they may alternatively apply through the cooperation agreement. In the framework of this cooperation, three issues are important which we would like to bring to your attention:
(1) The Beijing International Institute of Asia-Europe Education and Culture (AEEC) organizes an oral examination for students who are applying for the program through the cooperation agreement. These interviews take place each year in spring. To apply through the cooperation agreement please contact directly:

(2) The Beijing International Institute of Asia-Europe Education and Culture (AEEC) and the University of Freiburg offer a Service Package for Chinese students who apply through the cooperation agreement. Services provided by the Center include

Detailed information about master programs and the university life in Freiburg

Support concerning application and admission formal ities (including the admission procedureat APS/German Embassy)

Training in microeconomics, macroeconomics and English language in preparation for the interviews.

After the interviews, further training in economics and German language for students admitted to the M. Sc. In Economics Program in the period preceding the departure to Germany
The University of Freiburg provides the following services:

Admission interviews, conducted by Professors of the Department of Economics in Beijing

Pick-up service from Airport Frankfurt and transfern to Freiburg City by bus

Arrangement of accommodation in student residences for the first two semesters (this service does not cover the rent owed by students)

Assistance concerning health insurance and other formalities (bank, registration, etc.)

Guided city tour in Freiburg, university campus and library, extracurricular activities,excursions

Training in German language at the University of Freiburg

Special academic support during the first two semester of study in the Master Program
The University of Freiburg charges a fee of 3000 EUR for the services it provides. Final admission is conditional on advance payment of this fee.
The AEEC levies a charge for the services provided by its Training Institute. Further information about these services and the amount of the fee can be obtained from the Training Institute.
(3) In addition to the above-mentioned service fees , students are obliged to pay the University registration fees (155 EUR per semester) and the state tuition fee (1500 EUR for non-EU students per semester).
